Koh Samui Partner Hotel Area Guide
Koh Samui is a fantastic destination to take your staff on team building and incentive trips as the second most popular world class resort island after Phuket.
Areas like Chewang, Lamai, Maenam, and Bophut, where our partner hotels are based, are great places to stay as not only will you enjoy the hotel but from your location it is possible to do any number of team building activities including sailing, treasure hunts, cooking competitions, Amazing Race type challenges, and many more.
Chewang is the most popular and developed part of the Samui and there you will find world class hotels, a multitude of gift shops, Central Festival shopping mall, and many out or for any rainy days, indoor team building activities. The Chewang beach itself is one of the biggest on the island and suitable for swimming and general relaxing in the sun or by a pool.
Lamai is a more laidback area of Samui located closer to some of the great natural highlights of Samui including waterfalls, viewpoints, beaches, and is a bit more budget friendly than Chewang where it can be quite expensive. From Lamai it is easy to reach any number of outdoor team building exercises.
Located beside each other, Maenam and Bophut are predominately family friendly beach areas of Koh Samui. Bophut is located about 15 minutes from Chewang and has more than its fair share of restaurants, cafes, bars, and other attractions. A popular Friday night attraction on Samui is the night market in Bophut. Just up the ring road from Bophut is the quieter Maenam area that is more popular with the locals and long-term expats for the lower costing rental housing, restaurants, and other services. Maenam also has a night market but it is on Thursdays. The main selling points of Maenam are the quieter surroundings, better value in comparison to the other locations, and you have access to ferry services from the piers in Bophut, Maenam, and further afield at the main pier of Nathon.
