Direct flights connect 120 cities around the world and 12 destinations in Thailand including Phuket, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui which are Thailand’s major MICE and team building destinations. Suvarnabhumi (pronounced Su-wan-na-poom) International Airport opened in 2007 and caters to more than 15 Million passengers a year. “Suvarnabhumi Airport Link”, the new high speed elevated railroad, connects the city with the airport which is a convenient alternative to traveling with the city’s taxis.
Bangkok is served by two International airports with excellent links to the city from the North and the East. Survarnbhumi International Airport (BKK) is the main hub for Long haul European and Middle Eastern flights as well as Asian Region services, with well over 1,000 flights a day from 70 different countries. The airport has excellent travel links with the city with choice to travel by road or by airport link rail service. Travel time is approximately 45 to 60 minutes. The hot season, between March and May, experiences very little rain and temperature can rise to a 40C/105F. April sees the weather change with the beginning of the monsoon season which lasts until the end of October. Temperatures are at their hottest rising to the high 30’s leading up to the Songkran festival in April which is great time to visit the city.
