Making Teams customized it’s well-known Cultural Discovery Treasure Hunt for their client ERCO Lighting on the beautiful island of Koh Lanta just off the coast south of Krabi, Thailand.
The ERCO Lighting group of only 8 delegates was divided into two teams and after the team building briefing they were provided with treasure boxes including a set of instructions, a map of the island and a shopping list and budget for the negotiation game.
After solving some of the cryptic clues leading towards the points of interest, the two teams went off in their own minivan with driver and guide to find and explore these locations in a race that would determine the fastest of the two.
At each location teams were tasked to find an answer to a question related to the area, challenging delegates to use their team and individual skills of navigation, exploring, problem solving, communication and time-keeping and which required interaction with locals to negotiate and barter for items to thick off their shopping list.
As the afternoon came to an end and the sun slowly went down, teams were still trying to solve clues, find answers to questions and negotiating for items in a battle against time but eventually both teams made it to the finish in the Old Town before the deadline at which point it was yet to be determined who was the better of the two.
During the dinner in Fresh restaurant with a view of the pier and ocean, a debriefing was held to review the answers from both teams and the items brought back from the treasure hunt to determine the winner of the ERCO Lighting Cultural Discovery in Koh Lanta.
The winning team was awarded with first prizes and the second team was not left empty handed either, photos were made and the evening made for a successful end of a fun-filled day in Koh Lanta.
