On the 18 May 2016 ,20 delegates from Merisant, chose to do the Survivor Island Challenge designed by Making Teams.
The Merisant team came from all over SE Asia with participants from Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia amongst the group all looking for an adventurous afternoon of team building on Koh Madsum near Koh Samui!
1 pm Depart from Le Meridien Koh Samui to Thongkrut Pier
From Thongkrut Pier to Koh Madsum island by long-tail boat
2.15 pm Upon arrival teams were briefed and received the first challenge.
Challenge 1 – Camp building – Find a place, create a space, build your base – Teams created a survival style camp to accommodate their team and cater for all kinds of survival environments using limited resources.
3.15 pm Challenge 2 – Catapult – Ready, Aim, Fire – Using strategy, planning and communication, teams fired balls into the catapult arena aiming for their players to catch as many as possible and achieve the highest possible score.
4 pm Challenge 3 – Sand Puzzle – Focusing on communication skills – Bags of puzzle pieces were buried in the sand, teams then found their coloured bags, returned them to their mat and put the puzzle together. The teams were split into directors (the eyes) and blindfolded puzzle makers who interpreted the instructions of the directors.
4.30 pm Challenge 4 – Event Finale – Raft Building Relay Race – Teams raced out into the sea on their rafts, recovered their team buckets, returned to the beach , lined up and threw water along the line aiming to fill up the pipes with water and reveal the ping pong ball
5.15 pm Event De-brief and Awarding ceremony
5.30 pm Return transfers by long-tail boat to Thongkrut pier and onwards back to Le Meridien Samui by minivan.
