In the Virtual Treasure Hunt and through Zoom meeting software, teams will utilize Google Earth, information across the web, cryptic clues and their own intuition to find locations and answer questions that hold the secrets and ultimately the key leading to the final location and treasure which also holds the virtual prize! The cryptic clues lead teams to locations where they must solve puzzles in order to receive clues to the resting place of the treasure. After a number of locations the set of clues is complete and the team will be able to locate and find the treasure. First team to find the treasure wins the race.
On the day of the event and once everybody has joined, your host will explain the proceedings provide the teams with a globetrotting story and their cryptic location clues and questions. Teams will be preassigned and put into individual ‘Team breakout rooms’ where they can discuss and delegate tasks. Each set of cryptic location clues will be under time limit. Once the time is up the teams are sent back to the main chat where the host will see who could complete the most tasks in time.

The first challenge for teams is to solve the cryptic clues that will lead them to specific locations online that all team members must virtually arrive at using Google Earth 3D. At each location a local cultural riddle is given, these are questions or puzzles offered at culturally interesting locations and are related to the location and must be answered in order to receive the next piece of the clue leading to the treasure. Challenges may be custom themed to follow particular stories and genres
James Bond: Follow the footsteps of the world’s most famous secret service agent and travel the world to solve the biggest crimes and catch the most wanted criminals.
Indiana Jones: Put your selves in Indie’s shoes to retrieve the treasure before anyone else. Follow the route and visit locations from the most famous archaeologist.
Da Vinci Code: Follow the clues to find the Holy grail and uncover global conspiracies. Following the places and locations of the famous novels uncover Robert Langdon’s footsteps in this mysterious race.
Alien Invasion: You are the only scientists that can prevent the alien invasion. Track down the mothership to upload the ‘virus’. Visit the locations of alien encounters from the most iconic of Sci Fi movies.
Marco Polo: Follow the journey of the famous merchant and explorer travelling from Europe all the way to the far reaches of Asia. Visit the historic sites and cities that dotted the silk road and barter your way to the end but avoid bandits and crusades.
Super Spy: Stop the evil villain by visiting all of the locations a certain international spy is famous for frequenting.
1920s Horror: Track down artifacts and battle cultists in a world of spells, monsters and zombies.
The Hangover: Where did you wake up? And what happened last night? Re-trace your tracks to work out how you got to where you are now!
This event is staged online using a combination of ‘Zoom Meetings’ and a selection of other software and websites, all of which are easily accessible or free to download. We can send an invitation via email containing all instructions and links prior to the event. We highly suggest installing the relevant programs and using a desktop or laptop for full experience. Tablet and smart phone access is possible but will contain less functionality.
In the Treasure Hunt scoring is not given, instead teams are in a race to find a treasure, the winning team is the one that finds the treasure first. All other teams that follow will find the treasure is gone and are instructed to go to the debrief location.
The event briefing takes place in the central video conference room. The briefing will include a short tutorial for how to use the Video Conferencing software and best practices for operating within a group video chat. i.e. muting microphones when not speaking, looking at camera when speaking etc. After the briefing, participants will be separated into teams and invited by the facilitator to separate chat rooms, then the lead facilitator gives further instructions and objectives for the activity. The de-brief takes place again in the central video conferencing room. Briefing and de-brief usually take around 15 minutes each but can be extended upon request for more in-depth analysis of team performance.
Starting with a two to four hour half day option, this activity can be expanded to an eight hour full day event.

09.45 am – Teams start to unravel the clues to find the locations and travel to the first location.
Teams have 2.5+ hours to visit the clue locations, answers the questions, collect the clues to find the treasure.
12.15 pm – Teams must reconvene in the central conferencing room.
12.30 pm – Event de-brief, awarding ceremony
01.00 pm – End of the program
