Over 50 employees from ASML, a semiconductor manufacturer from the Netherlands, joined the Virtual Amazing Race.
The whole event took place over 2 hours.
All attendees joined the virtual event from all over the Netherlands.
The virtual event was conducted via Zoom.
ASML is an innovation leader in the semiconductor industry and supplies chip makers around the world with the materials needed to produce circuitry and microchips.
Attendees were comprised of employees from multiple job functions.
This was the first time that many of the attendees had ever used the Zoom platform so was treated as an introductory crash course and a chance to get together with the rest of the team.
At the start of the event the group played a couple of online warm up games to get everyone in the right frame of mind. The facilitator asked the whole group to answer a series of true or false questions but could only answer by holding up blue or red items. Another warm up activity was called ‘To the left’. The facilitator gives a scenario and everyone must grab the item nearest to them and explain how that item could be used in the given scenario. All warm up games are designed to get people speaking, moving and ready for the main event.
Once the facilitators briefed the whole group on how to navigate the virtual race interface, they were split randomly into 10 teams and had just under two hours to get through six locations and challenges. Four teams successfully completed the Virtual Amazing Race within the given time.
