Overview:
Making Teams organised a half day outdoor ATV adventure team building program on the 15th September 2017 for 96 delegates from Nu Skin (NSE Asia Products Pte Ltd) Singapore. The event took place at ATV Pattaya Adventures Park in the surrounding countryside and incorporated 5 team challenges.
Location:
The event location was 30 minutes by minivan from the client’s hotel, Dusit Thani Pattaya located in the beautiful surrounding countryside of the Pattaya region. We utilized the facilities of the ATV park for the program and set up two trails outside the park for the teams to follow during two activities. Inside the park, we arranged 3 team building stations.
Company / People
Nu Skin Enterprises is based around the world selling anti-ageing products. This program was requested by their Asia Pacific region team based in Singapore. Delegates came from Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore for their annual conference in Pattaya. The key employees were all account managers and sales and marketing managers for each country and the main personnel included Mr Jex Wong, Regional Sales Team Leader (Singapore) who was the event organiser.

The objectives of the team building event were as follows:

To explore the ways teams work together under challenging conditions.

The Event Brief:
Nuskin delegates will enjoy an adventurous morning or afternoon in the surrounding countryside of Pattaya. They will face a series of team challenges for which they will be required to use a variety of team building skills to be successful. They will need to be creative, innovative and delegate tasks amongst themselves, show leadership qualities and trust each other to perform the tasks. The team that combines all the elements together and executes each objective the best will win the Pattaya ATV/Mountain Bike adventure event.
The Program:
Teams will take part in a fun packed and adventurous afternoon of outdoor team building located in the countryside around Pattaya. The group of 100 participants will be divided into 5 teams of 20 and each team will compete over a series of 5 main challenges aiming to collect as many points as possible from each activity. The team with the highest number of points will win the ‘Nuskin’ Pattaya ATV and Outdoor team building challenge!
 The 5 Team challenges:
ATV ride – Each team will be shown how to drive an ATV. Then they will set off on an off-road adventure through the countryside with the aim for everyone to return to the start within the allotted time. An observation activity may be part of this challenge depending on timing and suitability. – Duration 30 to 45 minutes
Mountain Biking – Teams will take part in riding along an off-road mountain bike trail through the countryside. Following a map, they will need to be observant and make sure they stay on the right track and arrive at the start point within the allotted time. – Duration 30 to 45 minutes
Supplies Recovery – based on the puzzle of the fox, chicken and rice, teams will need to design a pulley system that will transport bags from one side of an imaginary river to the other. They need to work out the order in which the bags are transported, hook up each bag and bring the rice to their side of the river and to safety. Teams will need to use creativity and innovation to make the pulley system to transport each bag. The team that moves the bags in the correct order first will win this challenge.
Flying Egg – Teams will receive a limited amount of supplies including paper, tape, bin liners, string and a box of eggs. They need create a pack around the egg so that when the egg drops to the ground it will stay intact.  Creativity and design skills are the key to this activity and each team will have a minimum of 3 eggs to test different formats before choosing one egg for the Flying Egg challenge. Teams will need to launch the egg into the air and make it travel as far as possible allowing it to land by itself without breaking. The team whose egg travels the furthest and doesn’t break it wins the Flying egg activity.
Minefield: Find the pathway and way to communicate in this non-verbal communication challenge. Participants work together to reveal the path across the mined field and then lead their team from one side to the other aiming to get all or as many people over in the allotted time frame.
Event Schedule:
07.15 am –Transfer from Dusit Thani Pattaya to the event location
08:00 am – Group Photo (Drone Cam)
08.30 am – Event briefing by lead facilitator and division of teams and challenge order allocation.
5 stations / 40-minute rotation.
08.40am – Challenge 1
09.20am – Challenge 2
10.00am – Challenge 3
10.40 am – Challenge 4
11.20pm – Challenge 5
12.00 pm – Event de-brief and announce the winning team.(Or at the hotel)
12.15 pm – Transfer to Dusit Thani Pattaya
12.45 pm – Arrive at Dusit Thani Pattaya
