Overview:
Making Teams organised a half day Bangkok River Team Building Event by private motor boat on the 27th September 2017 for 18 delegates from Microsoft SEA.
Location:
The location for the tour was the enchanting Chao Phaya River, better known as the River of Kings, because of the the numerous bridges named after former Kings.
Company / People
The company brought their delegates to Bangkok to meet with their colleagues in the Thai office near to Conrad hotel. We were asked to propose a tour program visiting a tourist attraction and incorporate local life as well as two team building activities..
Event Objectives
The objectives for this event were to provide delegates with a tour of Bangkok so they could experience some local culture and lifestyle as well as have two fun team building activities at two locations.
Team Building Activities
At two locations on the tour the group would be divided into 3 groups of 6 and do a team challenge. The objectives were to work together to achieve the best result for their team and have fun. The two challenges were as follows:
Thai Market Barter
Teams received a list of well-known souvenir items in Thai. They needed to translate the list and then buy as many as they could for the best prices and stay within budget.
Street Stall Challenge
Teams received a list of local street food and snacks, they had to explore a local market find the item, then buy and consume each snack among their team.
Schedule:
3pm – Meet and Greet by Making Teams guides.
Depart Conrad Hotel Bangkok Take the BTS Skytrain from Ploenchit Station to BTS Saphan Taksin (45 mins)
3.45 pm – Walk to Sathorn Pier
3.55 pm- Â Travel by Private Chartered Motor cruiser along the Chao Phaya River to Wat Arun (30 mins)
4.25pm – Sightseeing in Wat Arun – The Temple of Dawn (30mins)
Market Barter – Teams will have 1 task at this location. Market Barter – Teams receive a list of items (in Thai) for which they need to translate and then buy at the stalls at the temple for the best prices
4.55  pm –  Depart from Wat Arun and travel to Wanglang Market–http://aroimakmak.com/hidden-bangkok-wang-lang-market/
5.10 pm Wanglang Market (35mins)
Street Stall Challenge – Teams need to locate three local snacks in the market, ask to help the stall holder make it and then buy and consume within their group.
5.40 pm – Depart 2nd location and return along the river towards Asiatique
6.10pm – Arrive and disembark at Asiatique.
