A great chance to give back to the community and provide a medium for self-expression. Take part with children from a beneficiary orphanage or school to learn from professional artists about a variety of artforms including painting, sculpting, collage, mosaic and more. Then ‘bid’ on each other’s artwork in a silent auction.
- To plan and organize a community event
- To consider ways to achieve corporate social responsibility
- To improve cooperation as a team
- To work on creativity, critical thinking and innovation
- To consider ways in CSR can be translated into a work environment
- To learn new skills with uses outside the workplace
- To explore a new culture
Participants are split into teams and partnered with children from the beneficiary. Each team rotates through a series of short and fun exploratory lessons in different art mediums led by working artists. Then participants with the children produce one or several pieces of original art in whatever style they choose. At the end, a silent auction is held and participants and children may bid one token on a piece of art that isn’t their own. At the end, the winner of the silent auction will receive a small prize, and a representative of the beneficiary will receive the donation from the client, either art supplies or other necessities.
A wide variety of artforms is available including painting, drawing, sculpting, collage, mosaic and more.
The location for the event is usually at the client’s hotel conference room. It may also be held directly on site at the beneficiary location, depending on availability.
Scoring for the silent auction is done by counting tokens that are placed in a box in front of each piece of art. The piece with the most tokens at the end will win a small prize.
There are no safety concerns.
The event briefing takes place at the activity location or the client’s hotel meeting room or lobby. In the briefing the group is separated into teams and introduced to the facilitators, then the lead facilitator gives an introduction of the event including instructions and objectives for the activity.
In the de-brief the lead facilitator goes through the event challenges and asks each team questions to assess their own performance before announcing and awarding the winning team if applicable.
There’s also time for providing further donations to the beneficiary and a group photo with the people of the beneficiary.
Briefing and de-brief usually take around 15 minutes each but can be extended upon request for more in-depth analysis of team performance.
The half day activity usually takes 3-4 hours, but can be sculpted to fit a full day up to 8 hour schedule as well.
