Overview:
Making Teams organised a half day Amazing Chase Team Building andย activity in Phuket outdoor team building program on the 21st September 2017 for 90 delegates from South Africa staying with Club Med at kata beach in Phuket.
Location:
The location for the event was the western, southern and eastern areas of Phuket. This beautiful island affords a stunning backdrop for any outdoor team building event and is ideal for an Amazing Chase program of cultural ad activity challenges located in and around resorts and towns on the island.
Company / People
The company based mainly in South Africa brought their delegates to Club Med for an incentive trip and corporate meeting and as part of their 4 day visit they requested an off-site team building event via their organiser Millennium travel. We were asked to proposed an Amazing Race style event utilizing local transport and incorporating local life and culture in the half day program.
Event Objectives
The objectives for this event were to provide delegates with a competitive team building event whilst affording time to relax and enjoy the local culture and lifestyle of Phuket. Teams took part in a variety of cultural and activity challenges. For each activity, they required leadership, strategy, communication, planning and interpretation to complete the activity and move on in the race.
ย Event Program:
Teams were set the task of completing a total of 7 challenges, 2 at the resort and 5 outside the resort. The challenges were a mixture of local culture and activities based at different locations. These included learning to Thai dance, do a Muay Thai boxing routine, make a fly and traditional bamboo kite, make and eat spicy papaya salad. Teams also had to use their bargaining skills to buy souvenir items for the best prices and be creative in our group jump rope and sand sculpture challenges before racing to reach the finish line first.
Event Schedule:
08:00 – Event briefing – allocation of teams / facilitators
08:30 – Teams depart the hotel for the 1st challenge location
Teams have up to 4 hours to visit and complete as many challenges and locations as possible
12.15ย -Arrive at the lobby for a time bonus
12.35 – Arrive late for a time penalty
12.45 –ย Event de-brief and award the winning team prize
